There is always room in your wardrobe for a party dress and choosing a versatile style means you can wear your glamorous garment for more than one kind of occasion. Learn about the different types of party dress and find the perfect style for you.

Casual parties and informal gatherings are a good occasion to showcase a variety of styles, from summery short dresses to maxi dresses and tea dresses. The weather may play a determining factor in the type of dress you choose.

A summer party might mean warm and sunny weather so you can wear floral patterns and light materials like cotton. Spring and autumn tend to be a bit chillier so you might want to opt for a long dress with longer sleeves and made from a slightly heavier material. Winter is the perfect time to keep snug in sweater dresses and comfortable knits.

If you are on a restricted budget or simply do not want to buy more than one party dress then look for simple styles than can be easily dressed up or down. For example, a medium-light weight, dark coloured dress can be adapted to suit several different occasions depending on the accessories you choose, such as scarves, belts and jewellery.

If you attending a party where dancing or games are taking place then keep this in mind when choosing your dress as you do not want to be restricted by in any way.

One shoulder party dresses are currently popular and are very versatile as they suit all body shapes. The different types of one shoulder dress range from short and long sleeve to mini, maxi and knee-length and they also come in a whole host of materials, colours and prints.

Whatever the occasion you are shopping for, investing a little time into finding your ideal dress can pay off as classic styles can be worn for many more years to come and never go out of fashion.
